Who is Satan and what is it?
Answer: In my opinion, after the subject of belief in God, the topic of Satan has attracted the most attention in various religions, and examining the position of Satan from different religious perspectives requires a considerable amount of contemplation and research, which is not possible here. Therefore, I will briefly explain it from a mystical point of view.
From the perspective of mysticism, Satan or demons are not imaginary beings, but rather they exist. Their existence is defined into two groups: the first group is apparent, meaning we clearly see them and are familiar with their actions; they are individuals with deviant and destructive thoughts. The second group consists of people we do not directly see, but who nonetheless make their intentions known through a variety of means; these are directors who are not well-known or visible in society, but who deceive people in a variety of ways. Another point is: what is the purpose of both groups? To deceive humans, both overtly and covertly, which are nothing but psychological temptations.
The commanding self, or ego, is primarily inclined towards performing evil deeds. Satan or demons surround humans from all sides and allure them towards evil. These demons are not imaginary; rather, they are individuals similar to us. They ensnare humans through various means and incite them to spread their wicked intentions in society. To recognize them, it is enough to look at the long list of individuals and large companies that, through advertisements or movies, promote various types of drugs worldwide and addict people to drugs, which is a significant social problem.
In my opinion, the only way to escape from the clutches of Satanic attributes is to utilize wisdom and awareness. Wherever there is ignorance, one can see the footsteps of Satan. In a correct perspective and knowing the real purpose of one's existence (not just having superficial possessions) in life, one will not easily fall for the temptations of Satan. Unfortunately, some of us have driven ourselves towards materialistic pursuits in this material world, and this has made us superficial and unrealistic beings. Certainly, in such a state, the workers of Satan also become very active, urging us to have more possessions, ultimately leading us into a cycle of possessions. However, if we do not fall for the deception of these possessions, cut off the hand of the commanding self and its allies from our lives, and realize the true essence of being, we will not adhere to anything that is beyond our true personality. This liberation has beautiful consequences, the simplest of which is not falling for the deception of Satan or demons, and the ultimate goal is reaching the perfection of humanity.
